Marmato 3D Mineralization

Marmato 3D Mineralization – October 2012
This 3D image illustrates the results of Gran Colombia’s exploration activity at our Marmato Project.

The current preliminary pit outline, containing 14.4 million ounces of gold and almost 90 million ounces of silver (see “Resources” tab here for details), is illustrated by the extensive exploration work shown above the grey area in the model.

The grey area below the open pit outline illustrates the results of our deep zone drilling program, where five holes for a total of 4,295 meters have been drilled (as described in our October 10, 2012 press release).

This new deep zone contains approximately 300 million tonnes of potential mineralization, and is not represented in the current total resource estimate at Marmato as described above.  These findings extend mineralization trends to approximately 700 metres below the limit of the current preliminary pit outline, and a minimum of 200 metres wide and widening to over 600 meters with depth.  This mineralization zone is open at depth and is open along strike in both directions.

Highlights from the fifth hole (MT-1500) include 1.6 grams per tonne of gold and 1.5 grams per tonne of silver over 618 meters of drilling. The hole also includes 16.9 meters with 35.2 grams per tonne of gold, with a 1.8 meter section containing 159 grams per tonne of gold, from a depth of 872 metres.

Significant results (greater than 20 gram-metres) are summarized in the assay table (Click here for details).
